Machining Transformation (MX) Live: End-to-End Automation and New Technology Highlights
From September 15 to 19, 2026, DMG MORI will present innovations for seamless and efficient manufacturing processes at the AMB in Stuttgart. Under the theme “Never Stop Manufacturing the Future,” the company will showcase 20 machines in Hall 10 across more than 2,100 m² of exhibition space, most of which will be operating live in an automated environment.
The technological focus is on the practical refinement of proven technologies directly on the machine, in the CNC control system, and in production planning. The solutions presented at AMB are not isolated, individual innovations, but rather coordinated building blocks that enable the continuous development of machines, processes, and manufacturing expertise throughout their entire life cycle.
The trade show highlights presented focus on specific optimizations along the entire process chain: Through in-depth process integration, such as grinding integration across different control platforms, new technology cycles for gear cutting, and closed-loop control in adaptive measurement, manual interventions can be significantly reduced. These updates specifically help manufacturing companies machine complex components more cost-effectively, ensure quality through automation, and make manufacturing knowledge digitally accessible on the shop floor.
The innovations presented here directly contribute to DMG MORI’s Machining Transformation (MX), which forms the technical and strategic foundation for the guiding motto “Never Stop Manufacturing the Future.” It combines the four pillars of process integration, automation, Digital Transformation (DX), and Green Transformation (GX) into a holistic approach that enables customers to progressively develop their manufacturing operations throughout the entire lifecycle of their machines:
Grinding as an integrated process: A key focus is the combination of milling, turning, and grinding in a single setup to reduce setup changes and cycle times. New for AMB is the availability of integrated grinding for machines with HEIDENHAIN controls, which makes the technology usable across different control systems.
Technology Cycles: New features without additional hardware investments: The Gear Package ALL IN 2.0 is making its debut at AMB and is positioned as a true innovation. With eight fully integrated gear-cutting cycles (such as gearBROACHING), complex gear teeth can now be machined directly on standard turn-mill machines, eliminating the need to purchase an expensive specialized machine. At the same time, Interpolation Turning 2.0 offers tremendous added value: It now enables the high-precision machining of complex, asymmetrical contours using only axis interpolation, which minimizes setup times and eliminates the need for special tools. These cycles demonstrate how the capabilities of existing machines can be specifically expanded through updated software and newly integrated process knowledge, without the need for new investments in specialized hardware or new machines.
The continuous development of machines does not end with commissioning. In addition to new software features, technology cycles, and automation solutions, DMG MORI provides additional investment and planning security throughout the entire machine lifecycle with its 5-year warranty on select core components.
Another highlight for autonomous manufacturing is the integrated AI Chip Removal system, which will be demonstrated live on the 3. Generation NTX 2500. Intelligent algorithms detect chip pockets in the work area and precisely control the movement of the flushing nozzles during machining. By continuously optimizing the flushing strategy while remaining extremely easy to operate, the system ensures robust, trouble-free complete machining and prevents unplanned machine downtime.
Adaptive Measurement: Closed-Loop Control in Automation: DMG MORI presents a fully automated manufacturing cell featuring the new MATRIS WPH loading robot and the Renishaw Equator adaptive measuring system. Components are measured automatically, and the results are fed back directly to the machine as correction data. This closed-loop control enhances process stability and minimizes scrap rates.
Scalable automation for any batch size: In addition to the MATRIS cell, DMG MORI is showcasing its broad portfolio of automation solutions. Solutions such as the proven Robo2Go, the modular PH Cell, and the WH Cell demonstrate pathways to autonomous, unmanned manufacturing. The company is also focusing on automation retrofits. These enable customers to upgrade high-performance existing machines beyond their original factory specifications and operate them more cost-effectively through new automation options.
Digital Work Planning: Digital work planning is the foundation of efficient and safe manufacturing. The focus is on the seamless integration of design, NC programming, and machine tools throughout the entire digital process chain. As the link between programming and the machine, the DMG MORI postprocessor demonstrates how machine-specific expertise is directly incorporated into the NC programs. Seamless digital processes, simulations, and optimizations increase efficiency and process reliability throughout the entire manufacturing chain. Since the software and machine come from a single source, they are optimally coordinated with one another and enable the machine’s full potential to be realized.
A Live Experience at the Trade Show: The New DMV 160

Holistic Connectivity for the Manufacturing of the Future
The technologies presented complement DMG MORI’s overarching digitization strategy by providing concrete applications for day-to-day manufacturing practices. The new, future-proof CELOS X manufacturing platform takes center stage as a key topic for the future at AMB. As a digital manufacturing operating system (DX), together with the no-code solution TULIP and integrated solutions for digital work planning and NC programming it enables the seamless, secure networking of machines, process data, and employees on the shop floor, thereby laying the foundation for data-driven optimizations.
“Our customers face the challenge of making existing manufacturing processes more productive, flexible, and safe. At AMB, we’ll demonstrate how our consistent development efforts address exactly that: end-to-end automation, deep process integration directly at the machine, and digital planning,” says Dr. Harald Neun, Executive Officer at DMG MORI, summarizing why a visit to the trade show booth is worthwhile. “Whether it’s process integration, technology cycles, adaptive measurement technology, automation, or digital job planning: Our highlights at AMB demonstrate how customers can continuously advance their manufacturing, step by step. That is exactly what we mean by ‘Never Stop Manufacturing the Future.’”
