Good mix: theory and practice at the second Medical Days
New technologies in Wernau for the medical technology sector
During the Medical Days on 8th and 9th March 2023, DMG MORI will focus on the development of state-of-the-art medical technology. At the Medical Excellence Center in Wernau, the company will once again present new technologies to help the medical sector face the increasing challenges in the market.
In addition to the symposium, DMG MORI will offer live demonstrations this year - an activity that ensured a well-filled showroom during the opening of the Medical Center Wernau last year. The list of machines, whose functionalities visitors will be able to experience in person, is long. The focus is on the MEDICAL EXCELLENCE CENTER area (MEC) and with it machines such as the NTX 500 with IMTR, the 2nd generation NTX 1000 SZM as well as larger turning/milling centers in the NTX series, a DMP 35 with WH 3 Cell and a Sprint 20 I 8.
For visitors who want to find out about technical innovations in the field of universal turning, various machines from the NLX series will be presented especially for the Medical Days. In addition to the NLX 2000 SY I 500 with GX5 gantry loader, there will be live demonstrations with the NLX 2500 SY I 700 along with Robo2Go and the NLX 2500 I 700 SY with MATRIS. Users for whom production turning is the focus can look forward to the NZX 2000 / 800 STY3. Of course milling will not be neglected and will be represented by the new 3rd generation NHX 5000.
The program will be enhanced by exciting lecture sessions. For example, at the beginning there will be a presentation of the NTX 500 / NTX 1000 / NTX 2500. An NTX 2500 will represent these highly efficient turn & mill machining centers for the medical industry and go into considerable depth on the topics of process integration, complete machining and sustainability. In the following practical session, guests will have the opportunity to experience live machining of implants and instruments. Also in the program is TULIP, whose new possibilities in documentation will be explained. The DMU 40, a world first, will then be presented. The afternoon will be dedicated to effective and flexible automation. It will be demonstrated how the automated machining of a bone plate is carried out using the compact, high-performance DMP 35 vertical machining centre with WH 3 Cell - a project that was developed in cooperation with a medical partner. In the afternoon further practical sessions will follow, including on the DMP 35 with WH3 Cell (automated bone plate manufacture) and on the SPRINT 20 I 8 (production of bone screw). Finally, there will be a presentation on professional management executive systems (MES) and their importance in the medical industry, as well as a session on high-performance computer software validation (CSV) by Aptean DACH GmbH.
