Automated complete machining for the future

With his passion for innovation and precision, Donald E. Oberg laid the foundation for the successful history of Oberg Industries in Tarentum, PA, in 1948. He revolutionized the tool and die industry through the use of tungsten carbide. Due to rapid growth, the then Oberg Manufacturing Company moved to nearby Freeport in 1950. The new headquarters offered sufficient potential to tap into new business areas in addition to precision stamping, including the mechanical processing and grinding of carbide and metal components. As a comprehensive manufacturing partner with over 680 employees, Oberg Industries now supports industries such as aviation & space, medical, and energy technology as a comprehensive manufacturing service provider – from design and prototyping to series production and manual or automated assembly. CNC machining continues to account for a large part of the value added. The company has been using DMG MORI machine tool technology for decades, including high-precision NLX 2500|700 turning centers and various 5-axis simultaneous machining centers. With its latest investment, Oberg Industries is once again demonstrating its foresight: a DMC 210 U installed in 2024 will contribute to the company's long-term competitiveness in demanding industries thanks to its versatility and precision.
